LONDON (AP) — Before there was John and Yoko — and after — there was just Yoko Ono. Yet that period forms just a small part of an exhibition opening this week at the Tate Modern gallery in London. One of the largest shows of Ono’s work ever mounted, it includes seven decades of work by the artist, who turns 91 on Sunday. In her landmark 1964 performance “Cut Piece,” she gave gallery visitors scissors and invited them to snip away at her clothes. For an exhibition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in the 1970s, Ono falsely claimed to have released hundreds of flies soaked in perfume for gallery visitors to find.

Paleontologists have sought to understand exactly how these animals died off, including iconic predators like the saber-tooth cat and the dire wolf. Some hypotheses suggest stiff competition for limited food aggravated by the arrival of humans and gray wolves. But new evidence suggests a bone disease that can debilitate modern cats and dogs, and even some of their humans, may have also played a role. In a paper published Wednesday in the journal PLoS One, researchers report that as the climate shifted, the bones of saber-tooth cats and dire wolves became riddled with defects associated with osteochondrosis dissecans, or OCD, a severe developmental disease where holes form in bone caused by developing tissue that never hardened.

CNN —A 10-foot-high bronze spider has set a new auction record for a sculpture by a woman artist, Sotheby’s announced Friday. Louise Bourgeois’ 1996 “Spider,” which stands at over 10 feet tall and more than 18 feet across, sold for $32.8 million including fees at a sale in New York on Thursday evening. The sale also set a new auction record for a work by Bourgeois. In May 2019, another sold for $32.1 million with fees at Christie’s in New York. The sculpture sold on Thursday evening was previously owned by Brazil’s Fundação Itaú.

În oraşul Cantemir a fost inaugurată o unitate modernă de salvatori. Construcția din temelie a remizei a fost posibilă datorită eforturilor comune a IGSU, Ambasadei SUA în Republica Moldova, dar și autorităților publice. Staţia a fost construită după standardele europene şi dispune de un utilaj modern. Oficialii au vorbit despre cooperarea frumoasă între Republica Moldova și Statele Unite ale Americii care a contribuit la edificarea unității din Cantemir. Construcția remizei a demarat în anul 2018 și a fost finalizată cu succes.

Grupul de Acțiune Locală “Lunca Prutului de Jos” a desemnat 10 câştigători aimicroproiectelor de dezvoltare economică locală ce vor beneficia de finanțare din fondurileeuropene ale Programului EU4Moldova: Regiuni-cheie. Acesta prevede sporirea atractivității turistice a pensiunii ” Casa Bunicului”, prin amenajarea cramei și curții inferioare a pensiunii. Noile proiecte vor crea minim 10 locuri noi de muncă în comunitățile membre ale Grupului de Acțiune Locală „Lunca Prutului de Jos”. GAL Lunca Prutului de Jos are în componenţa sa 10 localităţi rurale cu peste 30.000 locuitori. Partenerul proiectului pentru creșterea potențialului de vizibilitate și implicare a cetățenilor este Asociația Presei Independente (API).

Sediul central al Victoriabank are un nou design – mai modern, mai digital și mai aproape de cliențiSediul central al Victoriabank, amplasat pe 31 august 1989, 141 și-a finalizat lucrările de modernizare. „Redeschidem sucursala nr.3, cea mai mare unitate a băncii, un spațiu în care am adus tot ceea ce înseamnă puterea brandului nou – tinerețe, poftă de business, tot ce înseamnă digital și modern. Noul design al unității redă energia și caracterul modern al brandului și oferă un plus de confort și de accesibilitate celor cca 35 mii de clienți activi, persoane fizice și juridice. Acesta presupune realizarea tuturor operațiunilor la același ghișeu, ceea ce permite deservirea calitativă și în timp util a clienților. Ținând cont de situația creată de pandemie, pentru siguranța atât a clienților, cât și a lucrătorilor, oficiul a fost dotat cu cel mai nou tip de termoscaner, pentru măsurarea temperaturii corpului.
